EventBox - What’s New (March Update)
The new update ships with a ton of new stuff. Many improvements, several new features and a dozen bug fixes. Let’s take a look at some of them.
Custom and Smart Folders
You can now create custom and smart folders at the main level (Twitter is the only plugin for the moment which supports folders within itself. We plan to bring this to all plugins in an update).
Sharing of Google Reader Posts
You can now share Google Reader posts.
Favorites in Flickr
We support favorites in Flickr.
Tweet it!
If you’re reading some interesting story and would like to share it on Twitter, you can now just Tweet it!
Instapaper
Instapaper is a service which allows you to save URLs for later reading. They have a great iPhone app, so now you can just remember the URLs from EventBox and read them later on your iPhone / iPod touch.
URL Shortening Authentication
You will be able to track how popular your links are from now on.
Profile Peeks With Avatars
We’ve added an option to have avatars for Profile Peeks. Makes it easier to recognize people (you can turn it off if you want).
Unread Count Dock Badge
We’ve added the ability to exclude certain services from being counted towards the global unread count.
Simple Address Book Integration
You can now add people to your Address Book straight from EventBox.
Simultaneous Service Refresh
To ease the strain on your network connection, we’ve added the ability to restrict the number of service being refreshed at the same time.
